Different types of files
JPEG is the most common format used by digital cameras and images on the web. This file format is based on lossless compression, which means that it retains visible information to the viewer and removes data that cannot be perceived by the human eye. The popularity of a JPEG file stems from the fact that it is lightweight while maintaining good quality for digital use.
PNG is a high-quality file format used for images. This file type is based on lossless compression, which means it supports high-quality images for online use while retaining the original color and sharpness of the image.
A GIF file is a bitmap image format, which means that the graphics are made up of many tiny parts called pixels, just like the JPEG and PNG file formats. This file type is based on LZW (Lempel-Ziv-Welch), a special form of the lossless data compression algorithm.
PDF file format is used for online documents and printing purposes. It was created by Adobe to display files in the same format, no matter what device they are viewed on or what software they are opened with.
